The Expedition Hammock comes with darker Olive Green material and dark green mosquito netting. It is lightweight, comfortable, packs small, dries quickly and keeps out everything. The Dark Netting makes it easy to see out through the netting. It is breathable for hot climates, and there is a double bottom layer to slide a foam pad in for winter camping. The Hammock is 8 ft 2 in long. It features a mesh pocket and two hanging loops inside of the hammock to store your wallet or hang your flashlight. Stuff sack is fluorescent orange to make it easy to find. Comfortable for a man up to 6' 5" and 250 pounds. Weight: .8kg. (1.5lbs.)
Double layer system on the bottom of the hammock with Nylon on the outside and Polyester on the inside. The Polyester feels softer against the skin, and the two layers slide across each other so you can move around and sleep comfortably. The double bottom layers also make it harder for the mosquitoes to bite through. The heavy duty YKK double zips open from the inside and the outside and run the entire length of the hammock. They make it very easy to get in and out of the hammock, and they will last a long time.
The hammock comes with two 12 foot long (1/2" nylon web) straps. The ends of the hammock are reinforced with Nylon web and double-stitched so the strap to pass through, and these straps can easily be slid out and replaced by a longer rope if desired. This system allows the hammock to fold up neatly into a very small size. This hammock can also be used on the ground or on your bed as a personal "mosquito tent" if you don't like sleeping in hammocks. The lines can attach to a tree branch or a stick to hold up the netting away from your face and keep out snakes, scorpions, or mosquitoes. Dimensions of the hammock in the stuff sack is 4"x4"x12". The approximate weight of the hammock is less than 2 pounds or 1 kg. It's small and light enough to take with you, but sturdy enough to last a long time. |

Customer Reviews:
 | Bill Elk River, MN Very well made. Much more stable feeling than some camping hammocks. The mosquito netting doesn't stay square on the top as the picture shows unless you use a stick or dowel on each end - or instead use two lines running parallel with the hammock to support it. I haven't slept in it yet, but wonder if I may have preferred something a little bit longer (I'm 6'1"). It's packs small, is light weight, and the support straps are heavy duty. Yahoo Hammock Camping Group I love this hammock, though! It took me some time to get used to camping and sleeping in a hammock, but now that I've used it so much I fall asleep rather quickly and get some really good quality sleep out where I'd normally be sleeping on rocks and fallen branches. Hammocks are defininately the way to go! I just need to get my two kids and my wife set up now. ;o) See details for this item. | |
