Cumaru Wood

Cumaru is an exotic hardwood that is naturally weather resistant and beautiful to the eyes. Hatteras Hammocks features Cumaru, or Brazilian Teak as it is sometimes called, in many of its products such as hammocks, single swings and rockers. This wood is native of South America and features an extremely dense textured and rich tones. This hardwood is five times harder than pine and is part of the most durable hardwood category. With Cumaru, the application of sealer is not necessary as it naturally weathers to a beautiful silver-gray patina.
